Mrs. Doris Collum Robinson, 84, passed away on Monday morning, December 1, 2008, in Sumter Regional Hospital, East. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, in Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Hugh DeLoach officiating. There will be a gathering of friends and family from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Perry, 300 West Church Street Born January 4, 1924, in Sumter County, Mrs. Robinson was a daughter of the late Jack L. and Cora Lee Fullbright Collum. She was employed at Manhattan Shirt Company until the birth of her daughter. After her children were grown, she worked at Gertrude Davenport Company until it closed. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sumter Humane Society, 702 Magnolia Street, Americus, GA 31719, or to Central Baptist Church, 190 Upper River Road, Americus, GA 31709. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Robinson and a son, Bobby Robinson, both of Americus, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Robinson, on December 31, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Collum Harbuck and a brother, Johnny Collum.
