Mr. Clyde E. Biggs, 91, of Americus, died on Friday evening, December 12, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home. Rev. Rusty Mauldin will officiate. Born November 18, 1917, in Baldwin County, AL, Mr. Biggs was a son of the late John Wesley Biggs & Susan Dean Biggs. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a service manager in the automobile industry & was a Baptist & a Master Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ira Mae Smith Biggs, a grandson, Bruce Baldwin, & a son-in-law, Ted Baldwin. The family will receive friends at the residence of Mrs. Norma Baldwin, 116 Glenwood Road, in Americus. Family members suggest that memorial contributions be made to the League of the Good Samaritan, c/o Magnolia Manor, 2001 South Lee Street, Americus, GA 31709, or to any charity of choice. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley B. Barranger & her husband Herbert; & Norma B. Baldwin, all of Americus; four grandchildren, Debbie Martin & her husband Dennis, of Houston, TX; Herbert Barranger, III & his wife Kristen, of Atlanta; David Baldwin & his wife Reneé; & Pamela Grimes & her husband Mark, all of Americus; eleven great grand-children, three great-great-grandchildren, & several nieces & nephews.
