Dr. Robert M. Moore, Sr., age 90, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, April 22, at his home in Americus. A musical celebration of his life is planned for 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 25, from Lee Street United Methodist Church. Born January 5, 1925 in Lake Worth, FL, he was a son of the late Murvale H. Moore and Mary Emily Beatty Moore. He was retired from Chattahoochee-Flint RESA as a school psychologist. A member of Lee Street United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir, Dr. Moore was also a member of the Georgia Association of School Psychologists and the American Legion John D. Mathis Post 2. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served from March 1943 until January 1946. Dr. Moore was an outdoors enthusiast, enjoying hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Doris Moore of Americus; two daughters, Jeannene Moore Myers (Fred) of Statesboro and Debra Lavondia Moore (David LaRochelle) of Plains; one son, Robert M. Moore, Jr. of Americus; one granddaughter, Macy Zennouhi (Mohamed) of Houston, TX; one sister-in-law, Negarre Moore of Boston, Mass; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Murvale H. Moore, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lee Street United Methodist Church, 1102 S.
