Eliseo Tovar

Mr. Eliseo Tovar, age 51, of DeSoto, died on Thursday, January 1, 2009, in Phoebe-Putney Hospital. A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until midnight on Friday, January 2, in Hancock Funeral Home, with the Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 3, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, with interment following in Oak Grove Cemetery. Father Robert Girardau will officiate at all services. Born April 28, 1957 in Cuidad del Maiz S.L.P., Mr. Tovar was a son of Gregorio Tovar and the late Teresa Barron Tovar. He was a farm worker. Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Cristina Mora Tovar; brothers, Francisco Tovar and Pedro Tovar, both of DeSoto; sisters, Jacinta Tovar (Duque) of Leslie, Martina Tovar (Bautista) and Leonor Tovar (Duque), both of Mexico, Beatriz Tovar (Gonzalez) and Rosalba Tovar (Gonzalez), both of DeSoto. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., Americus, GA, is in charge of the arrangements.
