Evelyn Kinard Felts

Mrs. Evelyn Kinard Felts, age 90, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, June 17, 2015, at her home in Leesburg. Funeral services are planned for 10:00 AM on Monday, June 22, from the graveside at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Brooks Partain will officiate. Mrs. Felts was born December 20, 1924 in Leslie, a daughter of the late Thomas Edmond Kinard and Melissa Cheek Kinard. She attended college at Georgia Southwestern State University, and worked as a bookkeeper for the Ford Motor Company in Americus. Following the birth of her son, she was a homemaker who loved the outdoors - fishing and camping. She was a Boy Scouts den mother. In recent years, Mrs. Felts was a member of the Red Hat Society and a member of the Gold Key Club at Phoebe Putney in Albany, enjoying card playing at the hospital. Mrs. Felts was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hall Felts, Jr., and by three sisters: Ethel Bray, Lucile Williams, and Tera Allen. Survivors include her son, Charlie H. Felts, III & his wife Catiel of Gainesville, GA; two grandchildren: Copeland Felts of Valdosta and Lauren Hurst & her husband Bobby of Abilene, TX; one great-grandchild, Cohen Hurst of Abilene, TX; one sister, Mildred Wilson of Americus; and several nieces and nephews.
