Mrs. Lillian Harris McDuffie, 99, of Preston, Georgia passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the residence of her daughter. Lillian was born August 28, 1915 in the Friendship Community of Sumter County Georgia, the daughter of the late John Emory and Sina Mae Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, R.H. McDuffie. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Martha McDuffie of Tuscaloosa, AL, Charles and Pat McDuffie of Sautee-Nacoochee, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Ronnie Nix of Dalton; sister, Cornelia Greene of Americus, GA; grandchildren, John and Amii McDuffie, Jason and Jenni McDuffie, Jennifer and Jamie McDanal, Matt and Linda McDuffie, David and Jennie McDuffie, Lynsey and Charlie Bethel, Andrew and Jennifer Nix, Philip and Laney Nix; great-grandchildren, Rebecca McDuffie, Caroline McDuffie, Eric McDaniel, John Emory McDanal, Alec McDuffie, Lucy Mae McDuffie, Bea McDuffie, Aidan McDuffie, Callum McDuffie, Henry Bethel, Jeb Bethel, Joanna Bethel, Preston Nix, Blakely Nix, Harris Nix and Jay Nix; nieces and nephews; and caring friend Sharon Merrill. The family would like to say a special thanks to Heart Lite Hospice for their care and compassion. A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Preston Cemetery at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please make a donation to the church or charity of your choice. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., and Love Funeral Home, Dalton, GA, are honored to be entrusted with these arrangements for Mrs. Lillian Harris McDuffie.
