Mrs. Mary Ernestine Lowery Scarbrough, age 86, passed away on Monday morning, July 6, 2015, at her home in Smithville. Services are planned for 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 11, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, with Dr. Bryan Myers officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home, and at other times at the residence of Vickie Loyless, 155 Mills Road in Smithville. Born August 14, 1928 in Vienna, GA, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Franklin Lowery and Tommie Riddle Lowery. She was of the Baptist Faith and attended Central Baptist Church. Mrs. Scarbrough was retired from the food service industry. Survivors include her children: Rodney Larry Brown, Carol Leigh Brown Reno (Lawrence), Allen Wayne Brown (Sally Ann), Vickie Angelin Brown Loyless (Bobby), Donna Anita Brown Law, and Kim Renee Brown Miller (Allen); grandchildren: Shay Brown, Rodney Brown, Jeffery Brown, Scott Holland, Melissa Evans, Alena Henderson, Charlotte Murray, Allison Mapp, Sammy Brown, Donald Ray Waldron, Kerry Waldron, Jerri Colberson, Chris Dudley, Kelly Haviland, and Kevin Davis; two brothers: Aaron Talmadge Lowery (Heart) and Thomas Conrad Lowery; and several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Charlie Mack Brown; and by a sister, Glenda Faye Lowery Varnum.
