Mrs. Laurie Ann Tyler, age 49, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 21, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with Dr. Dennis Stalvey, Rev. Joy Wilson, and Rev. Steven Golden officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, November 20, between the hours of 5:00 & 7:00 PM, at Hancock Funeral Home, and at other times at the residence of Matthew Tyler, 303 W Glessner St. Born December 7, 1965 in Covington, GA, she was the daughter of Rodger Randall Ray, Sr. and Ophelia Wheeler Ray, both of whom reside in Americus. Laurie was the human resources director at Magnolia Manor and was the owner and operator of Sew Many Kreations in Americus. She was formerly a district manager for Walmart where she worked for 27 years. She loved sewing, and serving people. She had a sweet spirit, and a way of bringing people together. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her loving husband, Paul L. Tyler, with whom she celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary on November 17; three sons: Matthew Tyler, Aaron Tyler and Jamison Tyler (Heather), all of Americus; one grandson, Christopher Tyler of Americus; three brothers: Eddie Ray (Dean Boulware) of High Point, NC, Barry Ray (Denise) of Sylvester, and Randall "Randy" Ray (Ashley) of Americus; two sisters-in-law: Candie McNiel (Bubba) of Leslie, and Susan Albritton (Ray) of Douglas; one brother-in-law, Coy Elton Tyler of Gainesville; and several nieces and nephews.
