Mr. Jimmie D. Davis Sr., 90, passed away at home on November 7, 2015. He was followed in death by his wife of 70 years, Thetis Wynnelle Davis, 90, on November 16, 2015. Born in Andersonville, GA, they met at age 14 and knew it was love. They married in 1945 at the conclusion of WWII where Mr. Davis served in Italy and received a Purple Heart. They were blessed with five children and moved to Lake Alfred, FL in 1964. Mr. Davis was a retired produce inspector with Davis Melon Sales and loved fishing, hunting, and gardening. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker dedicated to her family and church. They are survived by their children, Thetis A. Cavender of Lake Alfred, FL, Jimmie D. Davis, Jr. (Linda) of Lake Alfred, FL and Milton L. Davis (Mariesa) of Raleigh, NC as well as 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Davis is also survived by her brother, Howard Holloway of Americus, GA. They were preceded in death by their parents, Hearde M. Davis and Imogene Davis and Lucius B. and Harriett A. Holloway as well as two children, Lucius Addison Davis and Barbara Denise Bishop. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his sisters, Sara Mooney and Francis Lansford, and his brothers, Keim Davis and Hearde M. Davis Jr. (infant). Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her sisters, Juanita Slappey and Ione “Tony” Graves, and her brothers, Leon Holloway Sr. and Huie Holloway.
