Ms. Rosalind Ryals Christian, age 66, of Panama City Beach, FL, formerly of Americus, passed away at her residence on April 3, 2009. A viewing and visitation will be conducted from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Hancock Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service to begin at 11:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Dr. David Kitchens, a classmate of Rosalind’s, will officiate. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be conducted in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home. For those who desire, the family members suggest that memorial contributions be made to the League of the Good Samaritan at Magnolia Manor, 2001 South Lee Street, Americus, GA 31709 or to any favorite charity. Born July 8, 1942, in Americus, Ms. Christian was a daughter of the late Carl Wilson Ryals, Sr. and the late Hazel Haddock Ryals. She worked for 14 years at the Citizens Bank of Americus, serving as a customer service representative most of that time. She later worked for four years with the Home Health Agency. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Americus, and is a past member of the Junior Service League. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Christian Boatright and Scott Boatright of Panama City Beach, FL; a son and daughter-in-law, Cary C. “Chris” Christian, Jr. and Linda Christian of Fayetteville; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl W. “Pepper” Ryals and Lauren Ryals of Peachtree City; four grandchildren, Brett Scott Boatright and Carolina Boatriight, both of Panama City Beach, FL, Collins Hoke Christian and Cary Ryals Christian, both of Fayetteville; a niece and nephew-in-law, Terri and David Strickland of Peachtree City; and three great nephews, Richard, Benjamin, and Michael Strickland. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, Americus, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
