Master Kenneth Eugene Phillips, Jr., age 5, of Byron, passed away on Saturday, April 4, as a result of an apparent accident on the Flint River. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, with services to begin at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev. Clinton Stephens will officiate. Following the services, Master Phillips will be cremated. Born February 16, 2004, in Americus, Kenneth was always a happy little boy. He was a pre-K student in the Child Care Network in Warner Robins, and attended Bethel Assembly of God church while living in Salem, Virginia. Survivors include his parents, Kenneth Eugene Phillips, Sr. and Vickey Watts Phillips of Byron; his maternal grandparents, Delores and Robert Griner of Americus; his paternal grandparents, Kevin and Nonie Findley of Salem, Virginia; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Carroll Watts, on November 6, 1993.
