Mrs. Mary Jewell King Roberts passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 12, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with Rev. Morgan Kerr officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM at Thompson Town Cemetery in Colquitt. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 11, between the hours of 5:00 & 7:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. Born February 4, 1947 in Booneville, Mississippi, she was a daughter of the late Richard James King and Hattie Pearl Cooksey King. A home maker, Mrs. Roberts loved flowers and had a green thumb. Survivors include her children: David King (Suzette) of Florence, AL, and Angela Young (Gene) of Americus; a brother, James King of Booneville, MS; three sisters: Margaret Jane Kerr of Rupert, GA, Elizabeth King of Whigham, GA, and Irene Brannon (Royce) of Sasser, GA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Michael Roberts; by a son, Richard King; and by a brother, David King.
