Mrs. Rita Ann Lancaster Phillips, 60, 826 Ridge Street, passed away early Thursday morning, April 23, 2009, in Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be con-ducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, in the Bertha Dozier Cemetery in Oglethorpe. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25. Born October 16, 1948, in Eastman, Mrs. Phillips was a daughter of the late King Lancaster and Opal Grimsley Lancaster. She was a loving homemaker and attended Grace Community Church. Survivors include her husband, Allen Lee Phillips of Americus; a daughter and son-in-law, Irma Denise Brannen-Scott and Joseph Michael Scott of Kingsland; a son, Arthur Wiley Brannen of Portsmouth, NH; three brothers, Gerald Lancaster of St. Petersburg, FL, Terrell Lancaster of Atlanta, and Lynn Chandler of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Richard Paul Mayo, Rita Daphine Hines, and Ryan Nicholaus Jenks, all of Kingsland, Christian Keeley Fennell of Warwick, and Brittany Brannen of Ft. Myers, FL; a great grandson, Richard Paul Mayo, Jr. of Kingsland; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, Americus, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
