Mrs. June Mathis Gentry, age 70, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Private family services are planned for 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 4, from the graveside at Oglethorpe City Cemetery. Bobby Hancock-Harris will officiate. Immediately following the service, the family will receive friends at the home of Reggie Carter Fokes, 405 W Anderson Street in Oglethorpe. Born June 9, 1945 in Montezuma, she was a daughter of the late Harvey Elbert Mathis and Luella Tidd Mathis. She had worked as a housekeeper in the health care industry, most recently at nursing homes in Perry, GA. Survivors include one son, Daniel Raburn of Montezuma; one sister, Georgiann Wishard of Plains; several nieces and nephews, including Jessica Kirby of Columbus; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by two husbands: Daniel Harrison Raburn and Frank Gentry; and by one brother and two sisters.
