Mr. Darrell E. Courson, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at his home in Americus. Funeral services are planned for 10:30 AM on Friday, June 3, from the graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery, with Rev. Brooks Partain officiating and Mrs. Ann Partain providing musical accompaniment. The family will receive friends on Friday at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., between the hours of 9:00 & 10:00 AM. A native of Sumter County, Mr. Courson was born October 2, 1949. He was a member of the Christian faith, was a self-employed carpenter, and a member of Woodmen of the World. Mr. Courson was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Moore Goolsby. Survivors include four aunts: Evelyn Holloway of Americus, Louise Wiggins of Americus, Katie Edmondson of Dothan, AL, and Candy Dinsmore (Doug) of Americus; several cousins; and his beloved dog Buddha.
