Delmiro L. Garcia, Sr.

Mr. Delmiro L. Garcia, Sr., age 68, 286 Cartwright Road, Americus, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2009. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Robert Girardeau officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1. A native of Dilley, Texas, Mr. Garcia was born June 8, 1940, a son of the late Jose Garcia and Fransisca Luna. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a farm contractor. Survivors include his wife, Minerva H. Garcia; daughters, Rachel Farias of Valdosta, Belinda Farias of Andersonville, Leticia Castillo of Bowling Green, FL, Norma Leal of San Antonio, TX, Nora Alvarez of Dilley, TX, Elizabeth Gonzales, Maria F. Garcia, Delmira Garcia, Blanca Garcia, Veronica Espinoza, Laura Garcia, and Dulce R. Garcia, all of Americus, Monica Carroll and Elena Garcia, both of Wauchula, FL; sons, Demetrio Garcia, Delmiro H. Garcia, Jr., Fransisco Garcia, and Horacio Garcia, all of Americus; a sister, Ercilia Delgado of Ray City, GA; 38 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, Americus, GA is in charge of arrangements.
