Elizabeth Herrington Adkins

Mrs. Beth Adkins, 61, 206 Wanda Way, passed away at her residence on Monday, June 8, 2009. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 11, in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Brooks Partain officiating. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10. Memorial contributions may be made to the League of the Good Samaritan, 2001 South Lee Street, Americus, GA 31709, or to any favorite charity. Born August 11, 1947, in Americus, Mrs. Adkins was a daughter of Floyd and Grace Herrington of Americus, both of whom survive. She worked for more than 25 years at the Tog Shop where she served as a customer service representative. She was a member of Lee Street United Methodist Church, and was a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include a daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Hal Dillard of Andersonville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Susan Rice Adkins of Lake Charles, LA, and Kyle Adkins of Warner Robins; a brother, Brad Herrington of Americus; three grandchildren, Miss Owen Dillard and Reed Dillard, both of Andersonville, and Laney Adkins of Waycross; two nieces, Whitney Bowen and Betsy Herrington; and a nephew, Russ Herrington. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, Americus, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
