Mrs. Lillian Johnson Autry passed away on Thursday morning, September 1, 2016, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 6, from the committal pavilion at Andersonville National Historic Site, with Rev. Hugh DeLoach officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday between the hours of 12:00 noon and 1:30 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. A native of Cordele, she was a daughter of the late Fred Mitchell Johnson and Lucy Barker Johnson. Mrs. Autry was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church, where she was a very active Sunday School member as long as her health permitted. Survivors include her husband, Jackson Russell Autry, Sr., with whom she celebrated 70 years of marriage in July; one son, Jackson Russell "Rusty" Autry, Jr. and his wife Pam of Tifton; two grandchildren: Ashley Autry Batts and her husband Jessie of Adel, and Travis Russell Autry of Tuscaloosa, AL; two great-grandsons: Asher Batts and Noah Batts, both of Adel; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, it was Mrs. Autry's wish that memorial contributions be made to Central Baptist Church, 190 Upper River Road, Americus, GA 31709.
