Maria Elena Corpus Rivera

Mrs. Maria Elena Corpus Rivera, age 57, of Vienna, passed away very unexpectedly on Saturday, November 19, 2016, in Vidalia. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 on Wednesday, November 23, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church of the Little Flower in Cordele. Father Paulinus Okpala will officiate. Burial will follow later in the evening at Oak Grove Cemetery. A visitation, followed by rosary service, will be held on Tuesday evening, November 22, at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 PM. Born October 4, 1959 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, she was a daughter of Basilio Corpus-Perez and Gabriela Corpus-Orozco, who survive her. Mrs. Rivera was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church and was a supervisor at Flex-Tec Lighting in Byromville. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Juan Miguel Rivera; six sons: Juan Basilio Rivera, Carlos Miguel Rivera, Rudolph Rivera, Ricardo Rivera, Gilberto Rivera, and Javier Rivera; eleven grandchildren: Juan Basiolio Rivera, Jr., Juan Jose Rivera, Jeniffer Rivera, Ricky James Rivera, Kyla Rivera, Javier Alejandro Rivera, Jr., Rodolfo Rivera, William Alejandro Rivera, Amairani Rivera, Carlos Miguel Rivera, Jr., and Anthony Lee Rivera; two brothers: Carlos Corpus and Jorge Corpus; five sisters: Martha Chavez, Angelica Carranza, Nora Castillo, Laura Lopez, and Veronica Perez; three nieces: Roxy Carranza, Erika Castillo, and Maria Carranza; and one nephew, Miguel Carranza. She was preceded in death by a sister, Maria Concepcion Corpus.
