Mrs. Laurie Pollock Jackson (Mrs. Hugh Gerald Jackson, Jr.), age 94, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Northside Forsyth Hospital in Cumming, GA. Funeral services are planned for 1:30 PM on Saturday, February 18, from the grave side at Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. Keith Parks and Rev. Rusty Mauldin will officiate. Born June 10, 1922 in DeSoto, she was a daughter of the late John Maurice Pollock and Bessie Irene Harpe Pollock. An active member of First Baptist Church of Americus for as long as her health allowed, Mrs. Jackson was a home maker and an entrepreneur, operating Jackson Frame Shop on Highway 280 for about 18 years. She enjoyed traveling with her church, was very creative, and was an accomplished seamstress. She is fondly remembered by her family as having a "wicked" sense of humor. She was preceded in death in 1994 by her husband, Hugh Gerald Jackson, Jr. Survivors include one son, Morris Jackson (Karen) of Cumming; one daughter, Jeri Langdon (Van) of Cumming; three granddaughters: Laurie Langdon (Travis Simpkins) of Cumming, Daisy Jackson of Macon, and Annie Peterman (Jeffery) of Cumming; one grandson, John Langdon of Cumming; two great-grandchildren: Millie Peterman and Jake Peterman, both of Cumming; and several nieces and nephews.
