Dale "Ross" Thompson

Dale “Ross” Thompson, age 72, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017, at his home on South Lee Street. Funeral services are planned for 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 19, from the graveside at Laurel Hill Cemetery on E. Jackson Street in Thomasville. Ross was preceded in death by his mother, Merle Hinson Thompson, and his uncle and aunt, Charlie and Betty Hinson. Ross is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Glover Sarvis; nephews Jason Sarvis (Keilla) and Brandon Sarvis (Melissa); and cousins: Charles, Harry and Beth Hinson, and Kay Dale Hinson. Ross graduated from Florida High School in Tallahassee and the University of Florida in Gainesville, and served in the U.S. Marines. He was deeply loved and is remembered by family and friends for his kindness, humor and spirited defense of the Gators at Thanksgiving gatherings.
