Mr. John "Jackson" Edenholm, age 85, of 2001 South Lee Street, Americus, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 12, 2009, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Born May 7, 1924, in Buffalo, NY, Mr. Edenholm was an employee of the Federal Reserve Bank, and owned horse boarding stables. He was a World War II Navy veteran. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's research. Survivors include his wife, Joyce M. Edenholm of Albany; his children, Carol Jemison & her husband Steve of Basom, NY, Laurie Sechrist & her husband Tom of Albany, Amy Sherman of Charlottsville, VA, and Andrew Sherman & his wife Teri of Houston, TX; and a brother, Paul Edenholm & his wife Laura of Batavia, NY; grandchildren, Christina Jemison of Basom, NY, Sherrie Pippin & her husband Tommy of Princeton, WV, Katie Sechrist of Tucson, AZ, and Jordan Sherman & Justin Sherman, both of Houston, TX; and great-grandsons, Will Pippin & Matthew Pippin, both of Princeton, WV. All funeral services and interment will be held at a later date in New York. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, Americus, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
