Mrs. Joyce McPherson, 76, passed away at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center at midnight on Friday, September 18. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh DeLoach officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. Born April 17, 1933, in Litchfield, Michigan, Mrs. McPherson was a daughter of the late Charles Wayne and Evelyn Mosher Lindsey, and the wife of the late Douglas Alexander McPherson. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and a devout member of Central Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, family members suggest that memorial contributions be made to the building fund at Central Baptist Church, 190 Upper River Road, Americus, GA 31709 or to the American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs. Ann Harris, 1801 Rose Ave., Americus, GA 31709. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Terry Douglas and Connie McPherson of Americus, Christopher Alec and Teresa McPherson of Peachtree City, and Timothy Scot and Fran McPherson of Leesburg; a sister, Phyllis Sundberg of Marshall, Michigan, two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Charles and Ramona Lindsey of Streetsboro, Ohio, Richard and Helen Lindsey of Marshall, Michigan, and Mrs. Russell (Bonnie) Lindsey of Battle Creek, Michigan; grandchildren, Lindsey and John Evans of Norcross, Megan McPherson of Peachtree City, and Madison McPherson of Leesburg; step-grandchildren, Carl Popwell of Americus, and Ryan Popwell of Thomasville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Hellen Wood, and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Russell Lindsey and Ted and Edith Lindsey.
