Mrs. Hazel T. Pastizzo, 84, died on Saturday afternoon, September 26, 2009, in the Palmyra Nursing Home in Albany. Graveside services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28, in Lebanon Cemetery, with Rev. Brooks Partain officiating. Born January 13, 1925, in Plains, Mrs. Pastizzo was a daughter of the late R. E. and Lula T. Thomas. She was a 1941 graduate of Plains High School and graduated from Freeman Business College in Albany in 1943. In 1944, she married Angelo Louis Pastizzo from Albany, NY. She worked for 32 years as a customer service agent for Sumter Electric Membership Corporation, and was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Edward F. Pastizzo, Sr. and his wife Ann, of Plains; grandchildren Eddie and Angela Pastizzo of Albany, and Edward F. Pastizzo, Jr. and his wife Lynn of Atlanta; nieces and nephews, Tommy and Nancy Goode of Albany, and Elaine Goode Love of Putney. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Thomas Goode. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee St., Americus, GA, was in charge of arrangements.
