Mrs. Ruby Ross Nesbitt, age 95, of Americus, GA & Rockingham, NC, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017, at Magnolia Manor in Americus. Born December 4, 1921 in Hartsville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Chester Ross and Maude Morton Ross. Mrs. Nesbitt was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Rockingham, NC for over 60 years. She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, was a deacon, and led many youth activities. She lived her faith. Ruby was a seamstress by profession. She could look at a piece of fabric and see a finished outfit in her mind. Everything she made was a professional job (well done). Mrs. Nesbitt is survived by her daughters: Pat Buffaloe (Jim) of Americus, and Linda Taylor of Rockingham; grandchildren: Jennifer Moss (Greg), Shawn Taylor (Amy), and James Todd Buffaloe (Kim); great-grandchildren: Jennie Lynn Womack (Andrew), Jamie Anne Conway, Sloan Taylor, Jackson Buffaloe, and George Buffaloe; one great-great-grandson, Easton Womack; and one sister, Jerrie Flynn of Hartsville, SC. Mrs. Nesbitt was preceded in death by her husband, A. James Nesbitt, Jr.; a granddaughter, Lisa Buffaloe; a son-in-law, J. L. Taylor; her brothers: Clyde Hammonds, Boyd Hammonds, Buster Ross, and Jim Ross; and her sisters: Mary Byrd and Earlene Hopkins.
