Dorothy Ann Montgomery

Mrs. Dorothy Ann "Dot" Montgomery, age 74, passed away on July 28, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. Funeral services are planned for 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 17, from the graveside at Andersonville National Historic Site. Born October 6, 1942 in San Antonio, she was the only child of Sylvester Wilhelm and Dorothy Benke Wilhelm. A former resident of Tallahassee, FL, she worked for the State of Florida, Department of Education, in Vocational Rehabilitation. Dot was a devout Catholic and a lover of all animals, especially horses and bunnies. She enjoyed hands-on encounters with exotic animals including lions, bears and white tiger cubs. She loved the beach, motorcycle riding, hard rock music, particularly Van Halen, and making people laugh. She was dearly loved by her family and will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Ruth Montgomery of San Antonio; and six cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Rondall Montgomery, with whom she will be laid to rest in Andersonville.
