Mr. John Franklin Parker, age 77, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM CST on Wednesday, November 1, from the graveside at Mathis Cemetery in Brent, Alabama, with Rev. Mickey Caldwell officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 31, between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. Born March 30, 1940, in Heiberger, Alabama, he was a son of the late James Eutaw Parker and the late Lula Mae Smith Parker. Mr. Parker loved woodworking and antiques, and was a self-employed antique dealer. He was of the Christian faith. Survivors include four daughters: Penny Whitley (Eric) of Plains, Judy Huddleston of Richland, Linda Harty (John) of Plains, and Cindy Baker of Cusseta; son, John Parker(Nancy); five brothers: Buford Parker, Fred Parker, Roy Parker, Thomas Parker, and King Parker; two sisters: Sally Williams and Bernice Judy; seven grandchildren: Magen Wages, Christopher Harty, Jessica Walker, Holly Walker, Erica Walker, Blake Potter, and Justin Parker; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
