Sylvia Dean Thompson

Ms. Sylvia Dean Thompson, age 82, of Plains, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. All services and burial will be private. Born June 10, 1935 in Orangeburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lillian Victoria Avinger. Ms. Thompson was a home maker and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Ad Astra Chapter 71 in Homestead, FL. She loved keeping babies in her home, and after they were older, they fondly spoke of how she influenced their lives. She was the type of person who, after meeting her, you felt you had known her all your life. Survivors include her daughter Pamela Dykes (Gary Parker); her son Terry Thompson (Angie Thompson); four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many, many friends.
