Mrs. Glenice Terry, age 89, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017, at Bolingreen Health & Rehabilitation in Macon. Funeral services are planned for 11:00 AM on Friday, December 1, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with Rev. Hugh DeLoach and Dr. Bryan Myers officiating. Private interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday at Hancock Funeral Home, between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00 AM. Born March 9, 1928 in Topeka, Kansas, she was a daughter of the late Albin Lawrence Larson and the late Jennie Cooley Larson. Mrs. Terry operated a private kindergarten in Perry, GA from 1959 until 1979, and was a member of Perry First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, worked with GA's and YWA's, and volunteered at Christ Sanctified Nursing Home before moving to Americus in 1979. In Americus, she was a member of Central Baptist Church, the Kathleen Gardner Sunday School Class, Monday Morning Prayer Group, and the Central Baptist Silvertones. She was a member of the Sumter County Retired Teachers Association. She retired from Sumter County Comprehensive High School in 1996, where she had worked as a para-professional. Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Higgison (John) of Macon; one son, Larson Terry (Georgianne) of Perry; granddaughters: Kristin Higgison Polasky (John) of Greenwood, SC, Lorin Higgison Atkinson (Porter) of Covington, GA, and Dana Higgison King (David) of Hoover, AL; grandsons: Micah Terry of Perry, Matthew Terry of Perry, and Randy Higgison (Anne) of Raleigh, NC; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Juliette Terry of Ellaville; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Arrington Terry; and by two sisters: Barbara Larson Kiker and Eileen Larson.
