Mrs. Roberta Anne Richards, age 79, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Funeral services are planned for 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 16, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, with Rev. Bud Womack officiating. Interment will follow at 12:00 noon in Andersonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends preceding the services, at Hancock Funeral Home, from 9:30 until 11:00 AM, and at other times at the home of Dawn Turner. Born November 28, 1938 in Washington, DC, she was a daughter of the late Raymond White and the late Mabel Posey White. Mrs. Richards was a home maker and loved flowers and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Willard S. Richards; by one son, Willard S. Richards, Jr.; one grandson, Billy Ray; and by three brothers and one sister: Jack White, Tommy White, Butch White, and Lorraine Forness. Mrs. Richards is survived by two sons and three daughters: Victor Ray Richards (Lisa), Ronald Eugene Richards (Cheri), Linda Lee Rathel, Dawn S. Turner, and Sherrie L. Holland (Frank); two sisters: Loretta Hicks and Patricia Punke; fourteen grandchildren: Taylor, Heather, Kalon, Chris C., Ryan, Kelli, Chris R., Hannah, Brittnea, Austin, Kyle, Lee, Addylin, and J.R.; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
