Gale Ruth Brown

Mrs. Gale Ruth Brown, age 62, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at University of Florida Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Born May 1, 1955 in Lancaster, NH, she was a daughter of the late Edward Clayton Briggs and the late Ruth Pearl Bissell Briggs. Mrs. Brown had been employed as a cashier at Walmart and attended I Heart Church. Survivors include her husband, Clarence Donald "Don" Brown of Americus; one daughter, Jessica Elizabeth Cox (Ray) of Americus; one son, Edward Brown of Americus; one brother, Norman Briggs (Judy) of Concord, VT; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are planned for 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 17, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with Rev. Roy Cobb officiating. Interment will follow on Saturday, January 20, in Conkle Family Cemetery in Henry County.
