Mr. Walter Donald Beamon, Sr., age 74, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services are planned for 11:00 AM on Monday, January 22, at Rehoboth Baptist Church, with interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. James Beckett will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 21, between the hours of 4:00 & 6:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., and at other times at the family's home, 417 Middle River Road. A native of Sumter County, he was born November 24, 1943, son of Ross Dean Beamon and Annie Laurie Williams Beamon. A member of Rehoboth Baptist Church, Mr. Beamon loved tractors and the outdoors, and most of all, he was a devoted family man who dearly cherished his family. He was self-employed, dealing with trucks and commodities. Survivors include his wife, Janice Beamon; three sons: Walter Donald Beamon, Jr. (Bonnie), Steve Gosa (Bridgette), and Lee Gosa (Tarona); three daughters: Pattie Fross (Kris), Heather Tyler (Jamie), and Traci Griffen; four brothers: Allen Beamon (Nancy), Lamar Beamon (Shirley), Cecil Beamon, and Clayton Beamon (Sharon); grandchildren: Peter Beamon (Danielle), Shannon Anaya (Chris), Tammi Thompson (Nathan), Nicole Kirk, Jeremy Kirk, Nicholas Fross, Tristen Gosa (Chrisanna), Tabatha Scott (James), Christopher Tyler, Crystal Tondee, Brittany Mercer (Tay), Beth Tondee, Summer Tondee, David Walls, and Ashlyn Gosa; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; by two brothers: Russell Beamon and Ralph D. Beamon; by one sister-in-law, Alice Beamon; and by one granddaughter, Samantha Fross.
