Mary Ruby Goodman

Mrs. Mary Ruby Goodman, age 89, passed away on Sunday morning, January 21, 2018, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 23, from the graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. Keith Parks will officiate. The following gentlemen are asked to serve as pallbearers: Shannon Wilson, Travis Goodman, Shane Wilson, Michael Wilson, Blake Sellers, and Stephen Wilson. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, January 22, between the hours of 5:00 & 7:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. Born October 14, 1928 in Russellville, AL, she was a daughter of Albert Wimberly and Vola Autry Wimberly Hines. Mrs. Goodman was retired from the Tommy Hooks Insurance Agency, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Americus. She was preceded in death on March 5, 2016 by her husband of 65 years, Mr. James T. "Tot" Goodman; and by her parents; and by her brother Sonny and her sister Ruth. Mrs. Goodman is survived by one son, James Thomas "Jim" Goodman (Barbara) of Americus; one daughter, Susan Michelle Wilson (William G. "Junior") of Americus; six grandchildren: Shannon Wilson, Shane Wilson (Brittany), Michael Wilson, Stephen Wilson, and Travis Goodman (Vicki), and Michelle Sellers (Blake), all of Americus; nine great-grandchildren: Hunter Wilson, Courtney Wilson, Cierra Wilson, Lacie Sellers, Garrett Sellers, Andrew Goodman, Echo Carter, Channon Biddle, and Mya Wardana; and several nieces and nephews.
