Mr. Willie James “Fifty” Patillo, Sr., age 61, of Americus, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Services are planned for 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 8, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with Rev. Brooks Partain officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 7, between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. Willie was born May 14, 1956 in Americus, to the late Homer Lee Patillo, Sr and Lula Mae Carter Patillo. He was educated in the public school system of Sumter County. He retired as a logger, landscaper and mechanic. Willie was a leader in the Americus Community and the father to many on Forrest Street. He was preceded in death by his brother, Homer Lee Patillo, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted companion of 25 years, Annette Peeples of Americus; three sons: Willie Patillo, Jr. of Montgomery, AL, Timothy Patillo (Sade') of Americus, and Sedrick Crochron of Johnstown, PA; three daughters: Latanya Peeples and Glenetta Peeples, both of Americus, and Kaniya Moses of Panama City, FL; mother-in-law, Lillie Crochron of Americus; eight grandchildren: Sedtavious, Lamont, Tavien, G’Hanna, November, Shavarria, G’Hanna and Channing; brothers-in-law: Eric Crochron (Trice) of Albany, Brian Crochron of Woodbridge, VA, and Kenneth Crochron of Gwinnett, PA; two nieces: Thomasina Williams of Americus and Valerie Jones of Atlanta; devoted friends: David Farnsworth (Sandy), Michael Fennessy (Martha Ann), Christine Walters, Eddie Mullins, Travis Walters; a very devoted friend and care-giver, Courtney Walters; and many cousins, relatives and friends.
