A talented and creative homemaker, mother and grandmother, Marie loved to cook and sew. She handmade clothes not only for her children and grandchildren but also for their dollbabies. She was always immaculately dressed unless she was digging in the garden or fishing. Momma loved to fish! In addition to a lifetime of bream fishing, she caught 13 Mahi Mahi on Marker 13 off Swansboro, NC in 1955. Her last fishing trip was off Destin, FL this past Spring, catching the largest fish of the day! Grandma’s pride and joy was her home and yard. She always had a yard full of flowers and a pie in the oven for whomever stopped by. Her apple pies and peach cobblers were legendary.
