Mr. James E. Brownlow, 52, passed away on Thursday, January 14, at the home of his brother in Schley County following several months of declining health. Graveside services will be conducted in Sunset Memorial Gardens at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, with Rev. Will Archibald officiating. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon, January 18. Born November 6, 1957, in Chattanooga, TN, Mr. Brownlow was a son of the late John Robert and Esther Berryhill Norman. He was a self-employed painter and was a member of a traveling vocal group known as "Heaven's Treasures." He attended Fickling Mills Church of God in Butler, and enjoyed visiting a number of churches through the years, especially those which had singing groups in which he could participate. Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Thomas and her husband, Charles, of Americus, and Samantha McDonald of Warner Robins; a son, Steve Norman of Vienna; two sisters, Judy Lloyd of Americus and Charlotte Nichols of Lithia Springs; four brothers, Bobby Norman of Ellaville, Tommy Brownlow, Robert Norman, and David Brownlow, all of Lithia Springs; two grandchildren, Shay Norman of Preston and Sara Thomas of Americus. A brother, Steve, preceded him in death. Hancock Funeral Home, Americus, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
