Mr. Eugene C. Percival died Monday, February 8, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Viola J. Percival, whom he married in Quartzite, Arizona on December 28, 1944. He is also survived by his children, John Percival, James (Mickey) Percival, Anita Dewey, Betty Hamman, and Ray Percival; 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Elsie Dorn, Mary Alice Hughes, and Thelma Kube; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Southeast. Mr. Percival served 21 years in the United States Navy and served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He also served in Vietnam as a technical adviser. After retirement from the Navy, he then taught Avionics Electronics at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins. After retirement, he and his wife Viola moved to a small farm in McAlpin, FL, where they remained until they moved to Americus in 2008. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, February 13, at 2:00 PM at Red Oak Grove Baptist Church in Modoc, SC, with Rev. Steve Cartin officiating.
