Mrs. Inez H. Goodin, age 76, died at the home of her daughter in Lumpkin on Friday afternoon, March 26, 2010. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, in Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Bob Prince and Rev. Mark Chandler officiating. If it is raining, the service will be held in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, Americus. The family received friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday evening. At other times, friends will be received at 118 Old Chestnut Street in Lumpkin. A native of Preston, Mrs. Goodin was a daughter of the late Horrace H. and Cassie Inez Young Harris. She was a member of the Benevolence United Methodist Church, and a former office nurse for Dr. Henry Fenn. She was also a former secretary for Sumter Tire and Battery. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and William Eady of Lumpkin; a sister, Christine Ellenberg of Americus; four grandchildren, Terry Eady and his wife Christina of Lumpkin, Bob Tondee and his wife Chantee of Americus, Nikki Tondee of Lumpkin, and Daniel “Mikey” Tondee of Lumpkin; and several great grand-children, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her husband, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage, preceded her in death on August 31, 2005. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, Americus, GA is in charge of arrangements.
