Mrs. Becky “MawMaw” Raybon, 70, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, May 26, 2010, at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center. Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 28, in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Dianne Hall officiating. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 27. At other times, friends may call at the family residence, 409 Barlow Street. Born August 13, 1939, in Columbus, Mrs. Raybon was a daughter of the late Henry William Harden and Annie Elizabeth Johnson Harden. Most of her early life was spent in Webster County. She was an upholstery seamstress for Scott Bedding Company and later for Gailey’s. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Annette and Carroll Carlisle, and Jo and Yamen Ounalli, all of Americus; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Kristi Raybon of Plains and Tommy Raybon of Americus; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Farrell Harden, Debra and Wesley Lynch, Emily and Steve Howe, and Ailiene Harden; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, James and Joanne Harden, Mack and Gail Harden, Harold Harden, and David and Paula Harden. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Arthur Raybon, a daughter, Gail Hodges, and two sons, Kenny Raybon and Johnny Raybon. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, Americus, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
