Mr. Troy S. Sellards, 68, passed away on Thursday afternoon, July 29, 2010 at Phoebe-Putney Hospital. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Webster County with the Rev. Lee Smith officiating. Born June 7, 1942, in Turkey Creek, KY, Mr. Sellards was a son of the late James “Buck” Sellards and Flora Ann Collins Sellards. He was a member of the Plains United Methodist Church and worked in the upholstery business, later becoming affiliated with the Webster County Board of Education. He served honorably with the U. S. Army for four years. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 30. At other times, friends may call at the family residence in Plains. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Cooper Sellards of Plains; two daughters and a son-in-law, Marie and Mike Wills of Preston and Barbara Lowell of Plains; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Madeline Spillman of Columbus, Ohio, Ruby and Charles Chapman of Turkey Creek, KY, Geraldine and Ken Smith and Bobbi and “Smiley” Smith, all of McVeigh, KY, and Carol and Dean Coleman of Roanoke, VA; a brother and sister-in-law, “Junior” and Wanda Sellards of Turkey Creek, KY; grandchildren, Brantley Wills, Stanton Wills, and Sydney Wills, all of Preston, Kelly and Quint Robinson of Americus, Ted Lowell of Plains, Christopher Lowell, Justin Lowell, Cassie Lowell, and Casey Lowell, all of Plains; and a number of nieces and nephews.
