Mrs. Nell O. Bell, 92, of Cordele, GA, died Thursday morning, November 25, 2010, at Crisp Regional Nursing & Rehab Center in Cordele. Born May 15, 1918, in Schley County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Jasper Newt Oliver & Foy Ellis Oliver. Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Bell, a daughter, Donna Gail Bell, a sister, Mary Athon, a brother, William Harold Oliver, & a great grandson, Chandler Forrest Wright. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Purvis of Cordele; grandchildren: Leigh Purvis Wright & Denny Wright & their children, Austin, Laralee, & Emma of Macon; and Cary & Lara Purvis & their children, Caroline, William, & Mia of Cordele; a sister-in-law, Vi Oliver of Americus, & a dear friend since childhood, Grace Albritton of Americus. Several nieces & nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews also survive. Mrs. Bell was a home maker, and also a long-time employee of Manhattan Shirt Factory where she was a seamstress. She was a member of Central Baptist Church & the Kathleen Gardner Sunday School Class at the church. Funeral services are planned for Sunday, November 28, 2010, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, Americus. Friends may call at Hancock Funeral Home on Sunday before the service, from 1:30 to 3:00 PM, or at other times at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Cary Purvis at 910 1st Street South in Cordele.
