Millard Wisham

Mr. Millard Wisham, 78, 114 Sullivan Drive, Americus, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 14, 2010, at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 16, in the First Presbyterian Church of Americus with Rev. Gary Cullison and Dr. Schley Gatewood, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 p.m. until funeral time. At other times, friends may call at Perfect Care, 114 Sullivan Drive or at 1006 Hickory Drive in Americus. Born in Taylor County on March 20, 1932, he was a son of the late Solon Wisham and Ruby Dell Wall Wisham. He enjoyed working in his yard at his own pace. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Americus and was retired from the Piggly Wiggly grocery store where he had worked for 43 years. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Americus, 125 South Jackson Street, Americus, GA 31709 or to any favorite charity. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Reatha Wisham of Americus; two sons and daughters-in-law, Herschel and Susan Wisham of Plains and Daryl and Laurie Wisham of Bronwood; a brother and sister-in-law, Solon and Becky Wisham of Bulverde, Texas; three grandsons, Jason Wisham of Americus, and Josh Wisham, and Ben Wisham, both of Plains; and several nieces and nephews. Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, Americus, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
