Mr. Allman Hogsed, age 91, passed away on Sunday evening, October 4, 2020, at his home in Roswell, GA. Funeral services are planned for 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 7, from the graveside at Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 6, between the hours of 6:00 & 8:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. The staff of Hancock Funeral Home would like to issue a gentle reminder to all attendees that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, reasonable social distancing should be maintained at all times, and the use of face masks is required. Born September 2, 1929 in Plains, he was a son of the late Carmen Francis Hogsed, Sr. and the late Martha Jackson Hogsed. A graduate of Plains High School, he attended ABAC, and was retired from wholesale warehousing at Georgia Cold Storage. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War. Allman enjoyed the outdoors and was a past member of the Flintstone Camping Club in Americus, prior to moving to Canton, Georgia in 2012. He was a faithful member of the Plains Methodist Church and served as a treasurer for many years. His greatest gift was his steadfast devotion to his wife, family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Myra Knight Hogsed; two daughters: Wanda Horne of Savannah, Georgia and Vickie Smith and son-in-law Mike Smith of Dunwoody, Georgia; multiple nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hogsed was preceded in death by his two sons and son-in-law: George Allman Hogsed, James Edward Hogsed, and Ralph Glenn Horne; and by his brother, Carmen Francis Hogsed, Jr. To sign our online guestbook and express your condolences to the family, please visit www.hancockfuneralhomeinc.com Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S.
