Anthony T. Brooks

Anthony T. Brooks of Americus, GA and raised in Huntsville, AL., passed from this life on September 17, 2022 to live in his heavenly father's eternal light. He was a man of great stature, strength and gentleness and a true and loyal friend to many. He was a devoted husband and father, never allowing his family to want for love or shelter. Anthony served his country 35 years, retiring as a Staff Sargent in the Alabama Army National Guard, 279th Signal Battalion. Leaving this life he follows his parents, Evadell and John David “JD” Brooks Sr. of Gurley, AL and his daughter Kimberly DeAnne Brooks. He leaves his loving wife of 56 years, Virginia Loita Walker Brooks, sons Michael (Martina) of Brighton, TN. and Kerry (Melisabeth) of Athens AL., grandchildren Kinsey, Brianna, Natalie, Ashley, Andrew, Jackson, and Cora. Great-Grandchildren Alexander and Brooklynn Rose, all whom he cherished. His brothers John David Brooks (Sherry), Osceola “OJ” Brooks (Dianne), and his sister Lotus Brooks Dixon (Donnie). Private gravesite service will be held in Huntsville, AL.
