Barbara Hale Kinnamon

Barbara Hale Kinnamon of 303 West Church St., Americus died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. She was 86. A private family service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Dr. Reed H. Freeman officiating.Mrs. Kinnamon was a daughter of the late Laura Ansley Hale and Prof. Charles Monroe Hale, Sr. of Americus.  A fifth-generation native of Sumter County, Mrs. Kinnamon moved to Atlanta following graduation from Georgia Southwestern College. In Atlanta she enjoyed a long career with Ford Motor Company, working in various positions within the sales division and the regional government and public affairs office.    Mrs. Kinnamon was a life-long animal lover, caring over the years for numerous cats and dogs who received her unmatched affection and devotion, including her feline family members Willie, Debbie, and Tommy, who survive her.  She is survived as well by her daughter, Leigh Ansley Kinnamon of Savannah; her son and daughter-in-law, Raymond Lee Kinnamon, Jr. and Karen Wommack Kinnamon of Americus; and her beloved grandsons, Charles Hale Kinnamon and Thomas Ansley Kinnamon, both of Americus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lee Kinnamon, Sr., and by her brother and sister, Charles Monroe Hale, Jr. and Laura May Hale, both of Americus. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Phoebe Sumter Hospice, P.O.
