Mr. Barry Anthony Spencer, Sr., age 66, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at his home in Hollis Crossroads, Alabama. Services are planned for 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 25, at Whitesburg Recreation Center, 50 Booster Field Road, Whitesburg, GA 30185, with Eric Spencer officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 11:00 AM at Whitesburg Recreation Center. In lieu of flowers, please consider bringing a dish of food to contribute to the family's meal on Saturday. Born July 23, 1956 in Atlanta, he was a son of the late Walter Eugene Spencer and the late Geneva Gerry Reynolds Spencer. Barry attended Central High School in Carrollton. When he was younger, he worked for Georgia Power Company Plant Yates as a coal handler. He then owned his own car sales lot, Affordable Motors. Later in life, he worked for both Kia Country of Savannah and Savannah Toyota. He loved dirt track racing and Nascar. In his younger years, he had his own race car, #A9, which he raced at Senoia Raceway. Barry enjoyed working on cars, gardening and fishing. His biggest love was his family and spending time with them. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy Spencer; and by a brother, Tim Spencer. Survivors include his girlfriend, Kimberly Bearden; children: Amanda Spencer Smith (Paul) and Barry Anthony Spencer, II; step-children: Raylee Spencer, Mara Bell, and Tate Bell (Chelsea); grandchildren: Dakota Rehberg, Devin Rehberg, Sierra Rehberg, Destin Smith, Daelin Smith, Drayton Smith, Juniper Star Rehberg, Skyler Hice, and Isaiah Spencer; step-grandchildren: Taytum Bell, Tucker Bell, and A.J. Burdick; one great-grandson, Maverick Rehberg; sisters and brother: Pam Rigby (Daryl), Angela Crawley, and Jody Spencer (Gretchen); and several nieces and nephews.
