Bennie Tyler

Mr. Bennie Tyler, age 94, passed away on Friday evening, August 9, 2019, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Funeral services are planned for 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 13, from the graveside at Ellaville City Cemetery. A son of the late Benjamin Ware Tyler and the late Cora Brown Tyler, he was born in Marion County on May 20, 1925.  He was a retired mechanic, having worked at Manhattan Shirt Factory.  After his retirement, he enjoyed raising cattle and row crops.  Mr. Tyler was a member of M.B. Council Lodge No. 13, F&AM.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Jeanette Bell Tyler; and by eight older brothers and sisters. Survivors include his sons: Warren Tyler (Cathy) of Americus and David Tyler (Trinah) of Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Kristin Tyler Chambers, Whitney Tyler Vickery, Ben Tyler, and Byron Tyler; great-grandchildren: Hannah Smith, Bailey Smith, Tyler Chambers, Henry Tyler, and Cora Tyler; and several nieces and nephews.
