Mrs. Betty Jean Lewis, age 81, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 10, between the hours of 2:00 & 4:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St.   Born June 6, 1937 in Atlanta, she was a daughter of the late Joseph James Pittman and the late Willie Odell Cannon Pittman. Mrs. Lewis was a talented artist. Among her favorite subjects to paint were her grandchildren, Native Americans, and nature. She was loved and will be dearly missed by her family.   Survivors include her children: Linda Denise Larsen & her spouse Joseph C. Larsen of Americus, James Lamar Lewis of Lilburn, GA, George Derek Lewis of Americus, and Joseph Charles Timothy Lewis & his spouse Brad Ray of Mill Creek, WA; grandchildren: Douglas James Larsen & his spouse Jackie Larsen, James Wyatt Lewis, Maria Cosette Lewis, Charlie Eben Lewis, Jacob Sebastin Seesfar Lewis, and James Derek Lewis; one step-granddaughter, Holly Marie Rigos; one great-granddaughter, Grace Ella Larsen; four step-great-grandchildren: John, Sophia, Evangelia, & James Rigos; and two sisters: Elizabeth Drew and Velma Jo Smith, both of Starke, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Raymond Lewis; and by her brother, John Charles Pittman.
