Mr. Billy Crook, age 89, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020, at his home in Americus. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 27, from the graveside at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Dr. Bryan Myers and Rev. Hugh DeLoach will officiate. The staff of Hancock Funeral Home would like to issue a gentle reminder to all attendees that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, reasonable social distancing should be maintained at all times, and the use of face masks is required. Born July 30, 1931 in Dooly County, he was a son of the late Lenny E. Crook and the late Georgia Childree Crook. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Crook retired as a manager at Manhattan Shirt Company, and then worked as a self-employed contractor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Marshall Crook, Bobby Crook, and L.E. Crook; and three sisters: Nettie Sullivan, Louise Middlebrooks, and Christine Harvey. Survivors include his wife, Janie Frazier Crook; one daughter, Joyce C. Pilcher (Danny); two grandchildren: Lesley Rhodes (Patrick) and Jeff Pilcher (Shannon); great-grandchildren: Jordan Pilcher, Briana Myers, Marissa Myers, and Wesley Barton; three sisters-in-law: Jannette Crook, Barbara Crook, and Dot Crook; brother-in-law, Harold Middlebrooks; and several nieces and nephews.
