Mr. Willie Mason "Billy" Johnson, Jr., age 76, passed away on Monday evening, October 11, 2021 at his home. Funeral services are planned for 1:00 PM on Friday, October 15, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Sam Maves and Rev. Randy Saye officating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as active pallbearers will be Phil Aenchbacher, Walt Wingard, James Peek Jr, Phil Hart, Marc Blankinship, Jason Hall, Cliff Hogan, David Hartsfield, and Ray Story. The following gentlemen are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers: Mason Johnson, Zion Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson, Blake Johnson, Tyler Holt, Jerrold Hogan, Hal Mifflin, Leverette Banks, Kenny Myers, Terry Adams, Jack Johnson, Arthur S Daniel, Gene Davis, and Jason Brown. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, October 14, between the hours of 5:00 & 7:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. Friends may call at other times at the family residence, 802 Old Andersonville Road in Andersonville. The Johnson family requests that all CDC guidelines be observed in regards to COVID-19. Born April 13, 1945 in Americus, he was a son of the late Willie Mason Johnson, Sr. and the late Johnnie Kate Wills Johnson. He was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and was a self-employed master contractor by trade, enjoying wood working, building beautiful fine cabinets and making custom moulding as needed for antebellum homes. He enjoyed shopping at thrift stores, pawn shops and antique stores, and loved working with all cars, having built his first car from the frame up, but had a special love for El Caminos. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, retired Sumter County Chief Magistrate Connie W. Johnson; one son, Willie Mason "Bill" Johnson, III (Felicia); grandchildren: Mason Johnson (Jerika), Zion Johnson (Jessica), Jeremiah Johnson (Matilda), Blake Johnson, and Alexis Holt (Ty); great-grandhildren: Xander Johnson, Braxtyn Holt, and Laityn Holt; and one sister, Susan Johnson Hogan (Jerrold).
